Dr. Saka Kazeem
Dr. Saka Kazeem became the Medical Director of ELK Medical in 1993 and is also an Assistant Attendant in the Department of Endocrinology at New York Methodist Hospital, as well as the Chief of Endocrinology at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center. He is board certified in the areas of Internal Medicine and Endocrinology; and continues to participate in clinical research in Type 2 Diabetes.

Dr. Kazeem is passionate about the opportunity to provide truly holistic medicine at ELK, finding the right balance between preventive care, wellness approaches and appropriate surgical intervention.


Karishma Sukhdeo RPA-C
Karishma Sukhdeo, RPA-C Studied at St. John’s University earning a B.S in Physician Assistant studies. She is also a Certified Diabetic Educator. Dr. Sukhdeo now specializes in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, and has been with ELK Medical for over eight years. She is most passionate about helping people understand what is going on within their bodies; and helping them improve their overall wellbeing.

I enjoy being part of an organization that works with the underserved community.  It is always a joy to see our patients reach their goals-in regards to their health/ medical conditions.


Bhanu Iyer, M.D.
Dr. Bhanu Iyer is board-certified attending physician in Endocrinology at ELK Medical.

Her credentials include an Endocrinology and Metabolism fellowship with Downstate Medical Center. Her fellowship at Downstate has earned her additional credentials as a qualified expert in the field.  Dr. Iyer has a special expertise in diabetic management, treatment and research and is looking to expand the Diabetic treatment and education services currently provided by ELK Medical to all patients throughout the New York metro area.


Fleurgin Rochelin, M.D.
Dr. Rochelin Fleurgin joined the practice as an attending physician in 2011. Dr. Fleurgin brings a wealth of experience as an Internal Medicine physician and quality management expertise to the practice.

Dr. Fleurgin will provide clinical service to patients as the practice moves forward with its goal of providing improved quality Diabetic treatment and professional medical care to patients throughout the service area. Dr. Fleurgin Rochelin completed his residency and internship training at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center. He is superbly trained internist with a focus in Endocrine disorders.
